Description
PJ Diesel Engineering will exhibit during the Danish Maritime Fair from May 2nd to May 4th 2018 at “Lokomotivværkstedet” @ Otto Busses Vej 5A, 2450 Copenhagen.

It is free to attend the events, but please e-mail us at dmf@pjdiesel.com for registration and tickets.

Event Program:

Wednesday May 2nd:

10.00 – 17.00 Meet our service engineers
Get the opportunity to meet and talk to our service engineers for a discussion around maintenance and repair of fuel injection equipment, governors & controls, and turbochargers.

13.00 – 13.30 Engine Components Hands-On
Get introduced to the basics of the diesel engine and some key components for its performance. One of our experienced service engineers will provide you with a unique hands-on experience with some of the diesel engines key components. This is a basic introduction to the diesel engine, and is aimed towards non-technical staff like purchasing functions, etc.

14:00 – 15.00 Green Ship of the Future: Understanding the potential of digital technology. Exploring and adopting digital technologies is key, if you want to develop tomorrow’s products and services. However, understanding and applying them in yesterdays’ context won’t always work. Through a joint consortium under Green Ship of the Future, a group of maritime companies have explored different applications of 3D print in the maritime industry to create awareness of and real experience with the technology.

Join PJ Diesel Engineering when they invite some of their fellow explorers to discuss and evaluate their results and learnings from the project, so far.

PJ Diesel Engineering, Clorius Controls, J. Lauritzen and Maersk Drilling will discuss and evaluate the findings of the 3D print project, but also share their thoughts on how maritime companies should approach digital technologies to truly understand and explore their potential.

15.00 – 17.00 Networking and Champagne Tasting
André and Lou from "Champagne Guru" will provide you with a unique tasting experience with different vintage and Grand Cru champagnes. The tasting will be held at our stand providing you with casual networking opportunities.

Thursday May 3rd:

10.00 – 14.00 Meet our service engineers
Get the opportunity to meet and talk to our service engineers for a discussion around maintenance and repair of fuel injection equipment, governors & controls and turbochargers.

10.00 – 10.30 Circular Economy through Service Exchange
Looking beyond the current take-make-dispose extractive industrial model, a circular economy aims to redefine growth. It entails gradually decoupling economic activity from the consumption of finite resources, and designing waste out of the system. It is based on three principles: Design out waste and pollution; Keep products and materials in use; Regenerate natural systems. Hear how a service exchange system supports a circular economy.

11.30 – 12.00 KBB: Two-stage Turbocharging
Today’s society and the IMO has recognised the urgent need to bring down emissions on a global scale and has launched a series of initiatives. Optimum engine performance and very high charging pressures and efficient exhaust-gas turbocharging are necessary to comply with the strictest emission limit values (e.g. IMO Tier III). Hear how KBB’s “K2B” two-stage turbocharging system enables compliance and improves overall engine efficiency and fuel economy.

14.00 – 14.30 3D Print and Repair
In 2017, PJ Diesel and a group of industry leaders took on a project to investigate how 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing could be applied for repair in the maritime industry. The project was executed in collaboration with DNV GL, DTU, Dycomet, FORCE Technology, GTV, KBB, Maersk Drilling, and Thürmer Tools. With the project, the group of partners has taken an important step towards exploring how emerging technologies can contribute to a more energy efficient and sustainable maritime industry.

15.00 – 17.00 Refreshments.

Friday May 4th:

10.00 – 14.00 Meet our service engineers
Get the opportunity to meet and talk to our service engineers for a discussion around maintenance and repair of fuel injection equipment, governors & controls and turbochargers.

11.00 – 11.30 Woodward: Introduction to the new Woodward Flex500
The Flex500 control system represents a new generation of turbine and engine control. This controller is an industrial hardware platform that offers robust, low-cost control for a wide variety of turbine, engine and compressor applications.

13.00 – 13.30 3D Print and Repair
In 2017, PJ Diesel and a group of industry leaders took on a project to investigate how 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing could be applied for repair in the maritime industry.
